A solo exhibition of new paintings by American painter Becky Suss (b. 1980) departing from Ann Patchett’s 2019 novel The Dutch House.

ICA is closed to the public Dec 3, 2023-Jan 15, 2024 for the holiday season and semester break.

Terry Adkins: Mute features a solo presentation of Adkins’ (American, 1953-2014) silent video work Mute, featuring Chattanooga-born blues singer Bessie Smith (American, 1894–1937) & her expressive rendition from the 1929 film St. Louis Blues, which contains the only known footage of the esteemed songstress.

Home/ is the inaugural exhibition of the Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA) at UTC, and highlights artmaking in our city that celebrates a sense of community and awareness to place. The exhibition expands ideas of “home” through 12 artists with a direct connection to Chattanooga, with artwork made between 1995-2020 and ranging from drawing, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture and video.
